Simon Wagstaff is the owner & CEO of ASA in Hong Kong & Thailand, ASI Group’s representatives in Asia. Simon works with corporations with offices in the Asia-Pacific region, providing a variety of operational support roles, including executive protection, due diligence and facility security audits. He has worked with ASI Group, first as a consultant, for well over 12 years.
Simon retired from the British Army in 1993 as a Senior Rank Bomb Disposal/EOD Engineer Officer after nearly 20 years of service. Much of his army tenure was with the Commando Brigade, and he also has more than 3,000 parachute jumps to his credit. Simon is a veteran of the Falklands War, and he served seven tours of active duty in Northern Ireland. He also served several years on active counter-terrorist duty in Europe and was awarded the British Empire Medal for Meritorious Service.
After retiring from the army, he joined Guardforce Group in Hong Kong and launched a new business for Guardforce/ICTS (Asia Pacific) in the Philippines that grew into a concern of six companies with more than 3,000 personnel within five years. Simon founded ASA in 1999 and has worked in almost every country in the Asia Pacific region. He now lives and operates from his base in Bangkok, Thailand and Hong Kong. Simon completed the Aviation Security Management course at the International Centre for Air Transport Management in Tel Aviv, Israel.
